...Tranquil.

I was stunned to silence when the vocals started up. It was peaceful, soft, and with many underlying emotional tones like these sorts of songs often are. I love hearing Japanese lyrics performed (well) by people who don't have it as a native language. You did really well. I also have a habit of singing Japanese songs, although I don't know the meanings, hehe.
Still, anyway, back to the song: it was really quite beautiful and I practically fell in love with the vocal performance and soft piano... There's not much more I can say, other than well done.

Thanks for review on yet another one of my songs. :) This one is the oldest vocal recording I have on this site. I actually didn't know much Japanese at all when I recorded this so I didn't understand it either. lol But I have loved this song for so long, I might redo it since I'm much better with musical hardware now.

Elton John crossed with David Bowie/Foreigner?

Wow, I really don't know what to say about this song other than "I loved it". Listening to it was an entertaining process. Once you launched into the "Some say the music..." lines, it was a cool diversion from the other part of the song. I actually throughout the first part of it kept going "This sounds like Darren Hayes from Savage Garden" in my head. Make of that what you will. Personally, I think that means it rocks quite hard, but to each their own.
Yep, you retained a certain classy cheesy-ness about it, but in a good way. I can imagine this being played in a John Travolta film somewhere, in that kind of atmosphere. :D

Cayler responds:

Hey thanks for giving such a good review for this song too! :) I'm glad to know that you related my voice to someone famous. lol This song was put together in such an amateurish way though that I definitely will be re-recording and remastering it in the future. I will probably add more live sounds to this too. I think it desperately needs some good old fashion rock guitar. XD

Beautiful... Honestly.

This is an absolutely gorgeous example of vocals really giving a song that extra spark. I was drawn in practically from the first few words because of the emotion that I could sense. It was quite captivating, really, and I was very enthusiastic about hearing the rest of what the song had to offer.

The lyrics are heartfelt, and quite beautiful... I was inspired by them: creating imagery in my head to go along with the song. It's a lovely romantic song, and the way the notes are sung so passionately and subtley represent that so well.
I swear, you'll be famous somewhere down the track.

As for the music, yes, it did have a sort of Asian feel towards the beginning. Paired with the vocals it was the lesser of the two elements, but that worked in the song's favour, so really there's nothing negative about that. I love the piano/string work; it helps introduce the dramatic yet soft, sensitive atmosphere needed for a song of this type.
Utada Hikaru is a beautiful musician, and from being inspired by her you've also created something beautiful. I'm sure if she heard this she'd love knowing she played a part in influencing it.

<3 Much love, this is definitely a song I'm giving 5/5, 10/10, Fave and Download to.

Cayler responds:

THANKYOU for writing such a long and full review!!! Now I feel like I should reply with an equally long comment, but I don't think I can. :) I'm glad that you were drawn into the lyrics and vocals so well since that's kinda the most important part of any song. lol I'm also glad that the lyrics affected you enough to create those pictures in your mind, I think of that as one of the main goals of writing good lyrics. Being able to paint a mental picture with words can help people follow the meaning much better. And as for Utada, it is my official plan that if someday I was to actually become a famous enough singer, I would make every attempt to at least meet her and maybe do a duet or even tour together if she'd go for that. I think it would be kool if she sang this song with me, and helped perform something that she helped inspire. lol But right now I'm dreaming and I have to get back to the real world. :') Thanks for the awesome review, and I'm glad that there are those like you out there that truly enjoy my sound, so I can continue making music with confidence. :D

..Stunning.

You, I have to say, have one of the most beautiful voices. I can't get over how well this is sung, and not to mention the amazing lyrics. At first, when I read them before the song started, I couldn't picture anybody being able to pull them off impressively, but you certainly managed. I also feel I should compliment the music; it was subtle, and very melodic in the background, but I think everyone knows that the vocals were the most captivating part... Which is why I have to download this.
I really can't get over how beautiful this song is... It's heart-wrenching, emotionally provoking, and I can relate to the lyrics so well. You did a wonderful job making this song. Don't you love the sound of writer's block washing away? It's a great sensation, right?
<3 Much love - you made my month, with that right there.

You know, I really liked it.

Wow, this is a nice breath of fresh air. The religious undertones were something that I could take into account and enjoy because I've heard similar music before. By the way, the guitar sounds like it has some Metallica-ish elements. It really worked for the introduction of the song. The vocals were impressive; steady, sufficiently emotional, and passionate whilst at the same time not too overbearing or whingy. Definitely keep working on the song, because I'd love to see it finished.

Thank you for the high praise! It is nice to hear some positive feedback sometimes, especially about my vocals...lol.

Hilarious.

God, I loved this so hard when I watched the flash... It's just as funny now as it was then. To the person below me (hurray for Vegemite, by the way), I'm trying to figure out if you're saying the Presets are bad or good or just making a reference, haha. (The Presets would probably be jealous, actually). This song is really wonderful, classic romance song. What girl wouldn't have her heart melt at this captivating display of male emotion...chunky male emotion, by the sounds of the end. xD
<3 Much love.

Fantastic!

Wow, the energy in this song is electrifying. The background beats contribute well to the prominent nature of the tunes laid over the top. I especially love what sounds like some whacky, surreal, alien flute melody just past two and a half minutes. That was very original. This whole song is catchy, upbeat and is 100% inspiring in the way it makes you want to get up and dance around to it... Ah, I can picture the rave clubs now. Excellent. <3 Much love for the brilliant skills.

Hmm.

Have you gone to see a psychiatrist about these obviously disturbed and egotistic sexual fantasies of yours? Or maybe a good prostitute would help. Either way, classic song. I lolled. HARD. And even if you didn't try, still, it was a gallant effort made towards being a, er... Actually, I don't know WHAT you'd call that. Something, anyway. You have a good brain on you, sir.

cHunter responds:

I know, my mom told me I'm very creative and encouraged me to expand on what I'm good at. She helped me write this song and all.

Fast-Paced Excellence.

I really got into this from the first few seconds; the introduction was very neat and prepared the listener for what seemed to be a battle between the different sections of the song, all trying to out-do one another and coming out equal in a harmonious balance of brilliance. It's great to get in a pumped up, adrenalised mood and songs like these are powerful in the amount of energy they have. Great job, awesome submission. <3

boggypete responds:

Thanks, I very much appreciate the review. It's amazing that you picked up so clearly on the mood I was trying to get the music to convey. Glad you liked it. =]

Keeps the mind focused.

I heard this in Intermad and really liked it; hearing it without graphics now is just as amazing and the sound, despite being of a slightly disadvantaged quality, is quite brilliant to listen to. Normally I only check out the first three or four pages of top ranked songs on the Goth genre list, but this is well worth branching out for. I like it a great deal better than most of the higher ranked songs. Lovely to listen to, and captivating.

karthon responds:

thank you very much.)
